The midweek walk led by Chris at Noojee.
This was taken near the start of the Loch Valley
trail. The whole area is very beautiful.

Coincidentally we bumped into the Pakenham
Bushwalking Club and joined them on the Loch
Valley section.

The Latrobe river runs through the Loch Valley.
This delightful forested walk was the first part
of our visit.

Baabaara and Janine make the local hotel goat's
acquaintance. Yes, its bleating did sound like
that.

The Noojee Hotel was closed, as the town had
no electricity that day. No toilet to be had!

The historic trestle bridge at Noojee. Originally
built in 1919, it is 102m long and, at is highest
point, 21m above the ground.

The Toorongo Falls. There was plenty of water
from the recent rains.

Amphitheatre Falls from the viewing platform.

Arnis' walk in Warneet and Blind Bight. Here
group sets off along the waterway. A good turn-
out on a rather hot day.

The foreshore area is largely tidal and militates
against bathing

One of the jetties projecting over the tidal
area to allow access to the channel

There were any number of watercraft and Sunday
is obviously a popular day for boating

Posted by Picasa
Our path was partly in the shade and not far
from the mangroves and waterway

Still on the outward leg; the return was more
open and much warmer.

This really is horsy country and these two
provided a nice contrast in colour.

A lovely morning with views to the moutains
and grassy hills. It only got hot much later.

A trail of many bridges, both above and below
the trail. Lots of shade, but some open stretches.

Why doesn't Tarzan swing as much as he used
to? Len assessing risk and adventure!

One of the tougher ups; but not too long. A
good early year outing.

Lots of ups and downs in a lovely, shady forest.
Great Fern Trees as a bonus.

the way.
